Your little corner stays yours.

Create a website account with a public player name and a passkey, or use Google. Passkey accounts do not require an email address. The Haze stores your passkey’s public key and a hash of your backup key—not your fingerprint, face data, device PIN or a password. Your device handles verification.

If you choose Google, The Haze uses your Google account identifier, name and email to identify your profile. Your Google password is never provided to this website. Add a passkey while signed in to keep the same profile and existing progress.

Your account and progress are stored with Cloudflare. A secure sign-in cookie keeps you signed in. Browser storage remembers local preferences and guest game settings.

Some guest interactions save progress on Cloudflare using a separate functional cookie lasting up to one year. It starts only when you interact, works without analytics consent, and is not used for advertising. We store a hashed browser identifier, progress, and any earned rewards; pending actions may be kept in browser storage until saved. Clearing this cookie loses access to that guest progress.

Signed-in progress includes Haze points, flowers, upgrades, custom racers and best arcade scores. Practice play without an account stays local and is not added to public leaderboards. Lost passkeys can be recovered with the private, single-use backup key shown when your account is created. Keep it safe: without your passkey, backup key or a previously linked Google sign-in, we cannot verify ownership.

Account sign-in uses a short-lived browser cookie and a 15-minute hashed network identifier to limit abuse. Raw IP addresses are not saved in the visitor statistics or account database.

First-party anonymous cookies estimate visits and unique browsers for the site owner. A visit lasts 30 minutes; the anonymous browser cookie lasts up to one year. Visitor statistics do not store your IP address, email, or browsing history, and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Optional Google Analytics

On inthehaze.com, Google Analytics loads only if you choose “Allow analytics.” It measures visits, public site sections viewed, device and browser information, and engagement. Google receives technical request information needed to provide this service. We do not send your account name, email, contact messages, or form contents to Google Analytics. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled.

Your analytics preference is remembered on this browser for up to 180 days. If allowed, Google’s analytics cookies also last up to 180 days. You can change your choice using the controls below. Choosing “No thanks” stops analytics collection and removes its first-party cookies from this browser. Declining does not affect games or your account. The separate first-party visit counter described above remains in use.

Your ticket

Only browsers that accept analytics receive a numbered ticket. This separate, first-party counter starts when the ticket feature launches; it is not a Google Analytics visitor number. An anonymous identifier in browser storage lets the same browser keep its ticket. We store only its hash, ticket number, and issue time. A different browser or cleared storage can receive a new number. Declining analytics does not request a ticket.

Contacting the studio

The Contact form sends your name, email, and message through Cloudflare to velvet@inthehaze.com so we can reply. Form contents are not sent to Google Analytics or stored in the website database. Short-lived, hashed network identifiers limit spam and expire within one day. Please do not include sensitive information.

Leaderboard nicknames and scores are public. Your Google email and sign-in credentials are not shown on leaderboards. Choose a nickname you are comfortable sharing.
